Furen Robotics project team, established in July 2020, pioneered the development of fuel-dispensing robots. In October 2021, the second-generation product was deployed in Lhasa, Tibet, becoming China's first and earning praise from a Foreign Ministry spokesperson. The team overcame multiple key technical barriers, independently developing China's first intrinsically safe explosion-proof robotic arm and a specialized depth camera resistant to 100,000-lumen intense light interference. By integrating AI vision algorithms, they achieved industry-leading vehicle recognition accuracy and built a comprehensive intelligent operation solution for explosion-proof scenarios, significantly enhancing safety and efficiency in high-risk environments.
Currently, refueling robots have enabled unmanned operations across all energy terminals—including oil, gas, hydrogen, electricity, and energy storage—and have been piloted in cities such as Lhasa, Xi'an, and Chengdu. The team actively promotes industry-academia-research-application collaboration, establishing consortia and joint laboratories with enterprises and universities, while continuously iterating based on real-world data. They have secured 18 patents in total, and the AI fuel-dispensing robot won the Gold Award in French design.
In 2025, the project spun off from Furen High-Tech to operate independently as Jiangsu Furen Industrial Robotics Co., Ltd., with the vision of “deeply cultivating scenario-based applications and driving innovation through technology,” dedicated to providing customers with safe, efficient, and innovative service equipment.
